Standish knows that people do not want to give up their pets because of a [temporary] financial inability to feed, medicate or provide veterinary care for the animals and, most importantly, that the pets are in most cases better off staying in their current “forever homes” than being abandoned or surrendered to a shelter.

The Planet Subaru Home Forever Fund (PSHFF) was established by Standish Humane Society in 2016 as a result of the generosity of Planet Subaru of Hanover. Planet Subaru is widely known as the “un-dealership” for its wonderful and honest business practices and for its committed community citizenship.
Planet Subaru first became a top corporate sponsor in 2007 and then increased its support in 2013 by naming Standish as its “local charity” for Subaru of America’s national “Share the Love” fundraising campaign.
Over the first two years of this campaign, Standish received over $51,000 and put those funds to work to carry out its mission to reduce the problem of animal overpopulation and animal suffering through its rescue/adoption and spay/neuter programs.
In March, 2016, Standish received its latest Share the Love donation in the amount of $48,434 and knew that it now had the capability to expand its programs to help the animals of the South Shore by creating the PSHFF, a program designed to help people in need KEEP THEIR ANIMALS IN THEIR OWN HOMES!
